At the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, around 4,500 students study in the fields of economics, social sciences and healthcare. With over 40 degree programs offered full-time, part-time, dual or distance learning, you have a variety of options for earning your bachelor's or master's degree.

HWG-LU was founded in 2008 as a result of the merger of the state-run University of Applied Sciences for Business and the Protestant University of Applied Sciences for Social Work. The main location of the University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen is the Campus an der Blies in Ernst-Boehe-Straße in the Ludwigshafen district of Mundenheim. In addition, there are several secondary locations, which are located in nearby Turmstraße, in the city center (Department of Social and Health Services in Maxstraße) and on the Rhine Promenade(East Asia Institute). With the planned new building, the "satellite offices" are to be brought together on the central campus site. The Weincampus in Neustadt, a cooperation project of HWG-LU with the universities of Bingen and Kaiserslautern and the Dienstleistungszentrum Ländlicher Raum Rheinpfalz, enjoys a special position.

Whether it's University Information Day (HIT), taster and focus lectures, Studium Generale or special offers for children and seniors - in addition to the regular lecture schedule, the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences holds all kinds of public events at which prospective students and interested students are welcome guests. Well supplied...

As befits a university, we naturally also have a canteen, which is operated by the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz. From Monday to Friday, there is a choice of two lunch menus. Price per meal for students: 3.50 euros. Here you can have a look at the menu. In addition to inexpensive menus at lunchtime, you can also get coffee, soft drinks and snacks here. A branch of the Mensa, the Mensaria, is located in the basement of Department IV at Maxstraße 29, and there are other cafeterias on Turmstraße and in the E-Building on Ernst-Boehe-Straße.

At a price of 180 euros (as of January 2023) and for a period of 6 months, students at the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences can purchase a semester ticket that is valid for the entire VRN area (except West Palatinate). Further information

Right outside the front door of the university's A-building is also a station of VRNnextbike, the bicycle rental system of the Rhine-Neckar Transport Network. Students benefit from special conditions. More at www.vrnnextbike.de.

The General Student Committee (AStA) of HWG-LU, which represents the interests of the student body, ensures that new students settle in quickly at the university and in Ludwigshafen. In addition to joint trips and campus events such as the summer festival or Christmas market, the AStA also regularly organizes Get2Gether and Ersti parties. If you are looking for a sporty balance to your studies, you should definitely have a look at what the Institute of Sports at the University of Mannheim has to offer. Whether recreational, competitive or popular sports - in the immediate vicinity of the HWG-LU, an extremely diverse program is offered with more than 600 courses in over 80 sports. Week after week, more than 10,000 students meet to play sports together. And the best thing is: with a valid student ID from the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, the courses are largely free of charge for you.
